Eterna Matchmaking - Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. General Policy

Eterna Matchmaking Inc. (“Eterna Matchmaking,” “we,” “our,” or “Company”) provides private, personalized matchmaking and relationship preparation services. All services are delivered under fixed-term packages, tailored individually for each member. By purchasing a package or service, you agree to the terms below.

All membership fees are non-refundable except where required by Canadian consumer protection law or expressly provided in this Policy. Due to the customized and time-intensive nature of our services, including consultations, assessments, searches, and introductions – significant professional time and resources are invested from the outset of engagement.

2. Cancellation of Membership
2.1. Client-Initiated Cancellation

You may request cancellation at any time by submitting a written notice to billing@EternaMatchmaking.com. Cancellation will end all future matchmaking activities; however, no refunds or credits will be issued for unused time or remaining introductions once the service has begun.

2.2. Pause or Deferral Option

Members may pause and resume their membership once during the contract term, in accordance with their plan’s specific pause allowance (e.g., one-month or two-month pause). The pause period must be requested in writing and approved by the Company.

2.3. Company-Initiated Cancellation

Eterna Matchmaking reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership immediately if you:

  • Fail to complete payment as agreed
  • Initiate a chargeback without lawful cause
  • Provide false, misleading, or incomplete information
  • Engage in behavior deemed disrespectful, harmful, or inconsistent with our values or code of conduct

In the event of company-initiated cancellation for cause, no refunds or credits will be issued.

3. Refund Policy
3.1. Non-Refundable Services

All payments made for matchmaking, coaching, workshops, or consultation services are final and non-refundable once the engagement process begins (including assessment, consultation, or profile creation).

3.2. Legal Cooling-Off Period

If you reside in a province with statutory cancellation rights (e.g., Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act provides a 10-day cooling-off period for certain contracts), you may cancel within that period for a full refund. Proof of residence may be required.

3.3. Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered only in rare and exceptional cases, such as:

  • Verified duplicate billing or system error
  • Professional background verification revealing disqualifying information undisclosed at registration.

Such requests will be reviewed individually, and supporting documentation may be required.

3.4. Dissatisfaction or Outcomes

Because matchmaking depends on mutual compatibility, communication, and personal readiness, Eterna Matchmaking cannot guarantee introductions will result in a relationship, engagement, or marriage. Dissatisfaction based on outcomes, match quality, or timing does not constitute grounds for a refund.

4. Refund Processing
4.1. Method and Timing

Approved refunds (where applicable) will be issued to the original payment method. Refunds may take 7 – 14 business days to appear, depending on your financial institution.

4.2. Currency

All refunds and payments are processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). The Company is not responsible for currency conversion fees or exchange rate fluctuations.

5. Chargebacks

Filing a chargeback without first contacting Eterna Matchmaking to resolve a concern is considered a violation of this Policy. The Company reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate memberships subject to chargebacks
  • Recover outstanding balances, including legal or collection costs
